| | FAQsTravelHow do I get to Spring Creek Resort? If flying by commercial airlines, you will be flying into Pierre Regional Airport. Delta, United and Frontier Airlines all service Pierre. If flying by private plane, Pierre Regional Airport will take great care and service for your visit.

After arriving at Pierre Airport, we will be happy to pick you for the short drive to Spring Creek Resort. 15 minute drive Rental Car service is available at the Airport. Avis and Budget have counters at the airport. If driving to Spring Creek, please see our map and driving directions on the web site. FishingThere are over 30 different species of game fish in Lake Oahe. What do I need to bring for my Fishing trip?You need to bring a hat, sunglasses, sun block, light jacket, rain suit during the summer months. Going into fall, the weather can change quickly. Bring a waterproof coat and stocking cap along with the items above. Where do we meet the guide?You will come in for breakfast around 7am and the guide will meet you at the Lodge around 8am. What is the appropriate amount to tip the guide?Gratuities are based on service rendered. The better the service, the better the tip. Tips average from $50 per day to $100 per day. Will the guide clean our catch each day?Yes, the guide will clean and package your fish for travel home or you may choose to bring some of your catch into the chef to cook for dinner. I’m not staying at Spring Creek; will Spring Creek help me find a guide?Yes, Spring Creek will book a guide for you. The rate is $385 per day for two people and $50 per person over two. Booking guide only requires 100% payment at booking and is non-refundable. HuntingWhen does pheasant hunting season open?Pheasant hunting season opens Oct 15, 2011 at 12 noon. The first two weeks of season hunting starts at 12 noon each day. After that the hunting day starts at 10am. Preserve season starts on September 1, 2011. Preserve status ground requires the re-seeding of birds harvested from that ground. On preserve status ground a hunter may harvest up to 20 roosters. What is the daily limit for hunting pheasants?3 roosters per day. How will my day start at Spring Creek?We will start with breakfast around 8am. Around 9am we will have a safety meeting to go over Gun safety in the field. According to the guide and hunting area we will meet guides and start heading to the fields around 11am. Do I have any options to hunt more during my stay?Spring Creek offers hunting and fishing combos during pheasant season. You can add a waterfowl hunt with your pheasant hunt or a day of fishing. We can set it up to hunt ducks and geese in the morning and pheasant after lunch. Any combo added is $250pp Where can I get hunting license for South Dakota?You can purchase license on line at www.gfp.sd.gov You also can purchase them over the counter at Spring Creek. Do I need a different license to hunt waterfowl?Yes, for non-residents you will need to purchase a waterfowl license. It will be a three day license for the five surrounding counties covering the Pierre area. What will hunting license cost me?Pheasant hunting license for non-residents will be $110 Waterfowl license for non-residents will be $75 Will I be put on a bus with other hunters and taken out to a field to hunt?No, Spring Creek will match up four hunters in a group and a guide will take you hunting for the day. Will my group of hunters be split up during our hunt?No, for groups larger than four, the guides and four hunters will travel and hunt the same area. But you will be in separate trucks. Can I bring my dog to hunt with at Spring Creek?Yes, hunting dogs are always welcomed at Spring Creek. We do ask that dog owners hunting with their own dogs be considerate of other hunters and to keep their dogs under control to insure the quality of the hunt. Dakota. You will order right off of the menu for the Steak House. We
are famous for great Prime Rib and Rib eye steaks as well as fresh
Walleye and Seafood. Our Steak House is the Crown Jewel for Spring
